Levin Brothers

Deal Activated, no coupon code required!
While they might not be household names, among musicians, Tony and Pete Levin are legends. John Lennon, Lou Reed, David Bowie and Paul Simon have all sought out Tony to play bass on their classic albums. As a member of prog-rock giants King Crimson, he’s become known as the master of the Chapman Stick — an innovative instrument that’s something like a guitar played like a piano. His brother, Pete, is a keyboard and synth wiz who’s appeared on countless jazz and pop records, improvising with the likes of Miles Davis, Gil Evans, Charles Mingus and Wayne Shorter, to name just a few. While these two musical brothers have worked together in the past, they’re teaming up for the first time as the Levin Brothers and bringing their jazz trio (including drummer Jeff Siegel) to The Triple Door in Seattle for this concert.

“Bohemia”

Deal Activated, no coupon code required!
From the duo who created last year’s award-winning hit “Seattle Vice” comes a new cabaret about love, classical music, art nouveau, green fairies and absinthe. “Bohemia” by Mark Siano and Opal Peachey is a new musical set in 1890s Prague that combines the music of Dvorák and Chopin, with art by Alphonse Mucha. Historic artists like Sarah Bernhardt and George Sand interweave with beautiful green fairies, aerial numbers, dance, burlesque, classical piano battles, comedy and original songs. Famous Czech composer Antonin Dvorák has hit a wall and prior to composing his magnum opus he looks to the bottom of a bottle of absinthe for inspiration. In this macabre and mystical dream cabaret, Dvorák is visited by the ghost of late composer Frederick Chopin. Chopin and many other famous Bohemians guide Dvorák as they search for the true source of inspiration and grasp at artistic immortality. “Bohemia” is coming to The Triple Door in Seattle.

Kiran Ahluwalia

Deal Activated, no coupon code required!
Kiran Ahluwalia had a small epiphany as she wrote what eventually became the title track for her latest album: The eruptions of intolerance and violence plaguing societies around the world had to be directly countered. Yet the focus on divisions and difference neglected a central fact, that we are all united in our difference and uniqueness. “There are seven billion of us now on Earth and every person has their own unique perspective and set of experiences,” she reflects. “We each have our own way of dealing with things, of hearing things, of moving through life.” Ahluwalia, with over nearly two decades of music making that took her from Punjabi folk and Indian classical music to refreshingly original borderless songs, has found her own way on “7 Billion” (Six Degrees: May 4, 2018). Touching on the need for tolerance and boldness, the songs on “7 Billion” encompass all Ahluwalia’s myriad musical fascinations: the guitar twang of Mali, the heavy heartbeat of Southern soul, the gorgeous nuance of Subcontinental sounds.
